Pet Surgery

Any surgery for a pet is scary, whether it is a routine spay or neuter or an emergency surgery. You can trust us to provide surgical services to improve your pet’s health.

Spay/Neuter Procedure

The spay/neuter procedure provides a variety of benefits to both the pet and the owner. It can help correct and prevent behavioral issues, reduces the population of stray animals, and helps your pet live a long and health life. Our veterinarians strongly recommend the spay/neuter procedure to all our patients.

Spaying is performed on female patients and involves removing the ovaries and uterus.

Neutering is performed on male patients and involves removing the testicles.

Spaying and neutering help prevent the urge to roam, aggressive behaviors, urine marking, howling, some cancers, and unwanted litters. There are many myths surrounding this procedure out there, but most of them are false. The procedure is not linked to any sort of weight gain other than weight naturally gained during aging. Your veterinarian will help you decide the best age to spay or neuter your pet based on your pet's breed and temperament. Doing the procedure before a heat cycle is oftentimes safer for your pet. Your pet’s personality will not change after the procedure but will prevent unwanted behaviors like aggression.

This procedure is performed under anesthesia, and your pet’s safety and comfort are always our top priority. Talk to our trained veterinarians about the procedure to answer any questions you may have.

Mass Removal

Mass removal is performed on any lumps or bumps found on the body. The mass will be tested to determine if it is a cyst, a hernia, a cancerous tumor, or a benign tumor. Our veterinarians will recommend the best course of action, which is typically removal. Our veterinarians will guide you through this process and provide you with all the information you need.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery is any surgery that is not associated with a bone. Most often, our veterinarians perform soft tissue surgery to remove a lump or mass. They typically come back benign, or non-harmful, but it is important to rule out any other possibilities.

Foreign Body Removal

Foreign body removals are performed when a pet has ingested something that cannot safely pass through the GI tract. An internal blockage can be extremely dangerous. If you believe there is an issue, call us right away. If this occurs after hours, please visit our emergency partner hospitals.
